The biasedcommentators who claimed that the recent civil action involving a university and an acedemic whose employment was terminated related to freedom ofspeech,particularlyin academe, are completely wrong, must know that they are wrong, andd seek to use an importantprinciple of law and democracy just to defend one of their own persuasion.

The matter concerned only the manner of use of free speexh.  It relatedd to an employment agreement which simply put a standard on the decency of speech which should be used by the employee in speaking of colleagues and the university.  If views of difference of poinion or propriety of conduct  had been expressed iin reasonable terms, it would not have offended the terms.
